An exhibition titled “Here and There” by eleven Bulgarian artists living and working in the United States, will be unveiled at The Mission Gallery here on August 2. It will be on until September 8, the State Institute for Culture said on its website on Thursday.
The exhibition will be unveiled with a solo performance by violinist Blagomira Lipari, who has been living and working in the US for years. The curator is Prof Vasilen Vasevski.
“Here and There” is organized within this year’s cycle of cultural events dedicated to the 120th anniversary of Bulgarian-US diplomatic relations and is a joint project with the Executive Agency for Bulgarians Abroad.
What unites the participating artists is not only their similar life story but also the Bulgarian Artists Abroad group, established in 2007 for cooperation in the field of art aimed at distributing and preserving Bulgarian culture abroad. The group’s members have had over 30 exhibitions thus far, many participations in festivals, competitions, and other cultural events that have made them an inseparable part of the life of Bulgarians in Chicago and the US, the State Institute for Culture said.
