Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova will attend a ground breaking ceremony for a site within Sofia Healthy Corridor, implemented under the URBiNAT project, the Sofia town hall said.
The Healthy Corridor is a walking route which will connect the Nadezhda Park with the North Park through a series of nature-based solutions which are expected to provide a better living environment for the residents of three districts of northern Sofia. The ceremony will be attended by Sofia chief architect Zdravko Zdravkov and Nadezhda borough mayor Dimiter Dimov.
Sofia is one of three cities along with Porto and Nantes where healthy corridors will be implemented with EU funding.
The focus is on the active participation of local communitises and the application of nature-based solutions in four areas: energy, water, nature and food.
