Deputy Foreign Minister and National Coordinator for Combating Anti-Semitism Irena Dimitrova held her first meeting with members of the Contact Group for Combating Anti-Semitism to strengthen inter-agency coordination in the fight against intolerance and hatred, the Foreign Ministry’s press centre said on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Interior Ministry, Justice Ministry, Youth and Sports Ministry, Prosecution Office, Sofia Municipality, State Agency for National Security, Commission for Protection against Discrimination and the Secretariat of the National Council for Cooperation on Ethnic and Integration Issues.
The participants expressed their commitment to a timely and coordinated national and international response to anti-Semitism. They highlighted the importance of prevention, including the role of education and the media, and cooperation with the non-governmental sector.
