An international plein-air painting workshop has started in Pleven with the participation of ten artists. The official opening of the artistic forum took place in the “Iliya Beshkov” Art Gallery.
“We hope that the plein-air will be a meeting place for artists from Pleven, from Bulgaria, from twin cities in our neighboring countries, to create conditions for creativity as well as for rest, for communication, for exchange of ideas, and the result will be wonderful paintings,” said Mayor Georg Spartanski at the opening.
The artists will paint two pictures each. They will receive an honorarium for one and donate the other. All the paintings will become the property of the “Iliya Beshkov” Art Gallery.
While the artists are working, the gallery will be open to visitors who might be interested in the process and the artists themselves. Open conversations with the artists for journalists and the public are scheduled on September 2, 3 and 4 at 5 pm.
The international plein-air painting workshop “Pleven 2023” is organized by the Municipality of Pleven and the “Iliya Beshkov” Art Gallery. It will last until September 7, when a joint exhibition of the participants will be opened at 5:30 pm.
