Finance Minister Assen Vassilev will participate in the informal ministerial meeting on EU Economic and Financial Affairs, which will take place in Santiago de Compostela on September 15 and 16, the Finance Ministry said in a press release here on Thursday.
On Friday, a joint meeting with ministers and international financial institutions from the Latin American and Caribbean region (LAC) will be held for the first time. The follow-up to the implementation of the Global Getaway Investment Agenda and the status of the Global Financial Safety Net will be discussed. The EU-LAC Global Gateway Investment Agenda is a political commitment between the EU and Latin American countries to work together to identify green and digital investment opportunities in Latin America and the Caribbean.
On the second day of the forum, Saturday, the participants will discuss the interaction between fiscal and monetary policy at the current juncture, how the two policies can address outstanding priorities, as well as the interaction between European financial integration, fiscal policy, EU public goods and the EU’s economic security strategy.
