A forum for innovations in robotics and autonomous technologies, titled “Robotics Strategy Forum 2023: Bulgaria in the Digital Age: AI, Automation and Robotics”, was unveiled at Sofia Tech Park on Tuesday. The event is organized by the Professional Association of Robotics, Automation and Innovations.
Visitors can meet young Bulgarian engineers showing innovations in industrial robotics and automation solutions as well as Bulgarian companies specializing in robotics, automation, smart production, and industrial technologies who are showcasing their newest robots and tech. There is also seminar programme, with representatives of the branch talking about the trends in Bulgarian robot production, the challenges facing cyber security in Bulgarian factories, as well as the entry of artificial intelligence into the industry.
The Robotics Strategy Forum has been taking place since 2019.
Opening the forum, Deputy Innovation and Growth Minister Georgi Angelov said that his ministry has the goal to rebrand Bulgaria as a place for high-tech innovation, entrepreneurship, and technological transfer. Robotics is one of the priority fields in Bulgaria, Europe, and the world, he added, as quoted by the Innovation Ministry.
He also said that two procedures are about to be launched under the Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises Programme: for creating innovations in enterprises and for incorporating them. The first procedure has a budget of BGN 127 million and the second, BGN 293 million. The idea is to develop innovations with application in industry, Angelov said.
